San Diego Six Shooters - Promoting 6 meter operations since 2001

For over 5 years and over 50, 000 hits, we've called this site home. As with any home experiencing that much traffic, it's time to clean up around here. A coat of paint here, a new look or idea there, and with a little time, effort, and patience, we will have this place looking it's best once again!

With that said, welcome to the official homepage of The San Diego Six Shooters Amateur Radio Club. Started in 2001, the Six Shooters have grown from a handful of local amateur radio operators from San Diego's east county to a club with a thriving membership throughout Southern California and beyond.

The progress we've made over that short span has been remarkable, and the club has continued to gain momentum as time continues to pass. Our relaxed, comfortable approach to amateur radio has been a welcomed relief for many seeking to enjoy the amateur radio service without the pomp and circumstance of the traditional amateur radio club.

Our meetings are relaxing and enjoyable, informative and entertaining. Our nets are amoung the most participated in all of southern California, and all are welcome to participate

So, I hope as you cruise through the San Diego Six Shooters web site, you find what you are looking for, maybe find something new, and feel free to share your ideas with us by signing our guestbook. Let us know what you think about the site and what you'd like to see here in the future.

Hope to hear YOU on SIX!

Don't Judge a Book By its Cover

While the San Diego Six Shooters Amateur Radio Club started with the concept of promoting 6 meter amateur radio operations as a viable means of both local and long distance communications at a time when the level of activity on 6 meters was extremely low, we have come full circle.

While maintianing our presence on the 6 meter band, we have ventured off into all aspects of the amateur radio service.  We have explored topics ranging from APRS to D-Star, we have introduced modes to the local community not previously worked, such as PSK-31 on 6 meters (not only have we planted that bug in many local amateur radio operators, but another local club has caught the bug and taken it a step further by having a weekly PSK-31 net on 6 meters).

We've sponsored events for kids by setting up a Kids Day station in Balboa Park, which was a ton of fun!

And we're always looking for new ways to keep our radio service fresh and exciting for our members.  I hope you'll think about joining us soon!

SAN DIEGO SIX SHOOTERS YAHOO GROUPS PAGE

The San Diego SIx Shooters ARC also maintains a group page on Yahoo! Groups.  This site was designed to provide a more interactive avenue for members and non-members with an interest in what we are all about.  Here, group members can post questions pertaining to issues related to the amateur radio service, share files on projects they have completed, participate in polls on topics related to the club and club activities, and so on.  I like to think of it as an extension of our nets.  Why not take a peek at the San Diego Six Shooters Group Page.

Feel free to sign up while you are there... no obligation to join the club!
